Lobi Slingshot with Janus Face
White metal slingshot with Janus face from the Lobi people of Burkina Faso. Slingshots were traditionally utilized during the hunting of smaller game, primarily birds. They are also often played with by children. The Lobi made figural slingshots out of wood or metal, and regarded the objects as talismans of the hunt. Ex Joseph Knopfelmacher collection.
