Burkina Faso Iron Instrument
This minimal yet ingenious musical instrument is from the region of northern Cote d’Ivoire/Ghana and Burkina Faso. Its design is the work of an individual genius at an anvil and cannot be ascribed to a tribe or ethnic group. It’s age is approximately 70 to 100 years. I know of none others like it. Ex collection Lucien Gueniguez (Abidjan-Paris-New York 1990’s). 10.5″ H.
