Camel saddle with round pommel. Much worn from handling, use and exposure to the elements. The Tuareg camel saddle is likely related to North Arabian and Bedouin camel saddles, as they share a near identical, upside-down Y-shape form with a knob on the pommel. These were probably paired up on the back of a camel, before and after the hump, with a rope traveling between which allowed things to be hung between the two vertical posts such as camel bags, mats, water vessels, cargo, etc. The holes in the side are for ropes to be strung between and tied together.
