Old Lwalwa Mask
Authentic Lwalwa masks are rare and highly sought after. The finest examples sell for many thousands of dollars in part because they are so scarce. Although admittedly an especially refined example, this Lwalwa mask is nevertheless the real deal. It’s old, well used, and is instantly recognizable as Lwalwa. The mask comes from the estate of a New York City dealer/collector couple who acquired it in the 1970s, so it has respective provenance as well- names which can be provided upon request. If owning an authentic Lwalwa mask is a goal but prices have remained out of reach, this mask presents a golden opportunity, especially since it has been priced by executors of the estate to sell. 14″ with mount.
