Kuba Cup with Scalloped Design
Simple, traditional Kuba wine vessel with scalloped design at the foot of the cup. For the Kuba people of the DRC, consumption of palm wine is a strictly social activity. Cups such as this one provided a means for the Kuba to forge special relationships within the community and consolidate unity. These vessels served a social function and were valued accessories.
