Highly Decorative Calabash
Beautifully adorned gourd with a rich patina. Exquisite craftsmanship in the arrangement and stitching of the cowrie shells and extending train. The purpose of this calabash is unknown; perhaps it is an offering bowl or headdress of some kind, though the interior does not suggest it was worn as a headdress. Ex Eric Robertson.
