Handsome Lwalwa Mask

Lwalwa carvers are known for their exquisite masks. This handsome, authentic example features a triangular chin, large angular nose, protruding forehead, wide holes for eyes and an incised design at the top of the head. The ears are small but appear prominent when the mask is faced forward. Textured patina indicates age and ritual use.
