Authentic Art and Ethnographic Objects From Africa / Custom Mounting Services
A somewhat geometricized rendering of the human form with a concave facial plain, serene expression and vertical scarification on each cheek. The figure is without feet, and one leg is shorter than the other — it is likely that there never were feet, and that the figure stood on the ground like this, causing it to unevenly erode. Most likely carved sometime between 1900 and 1940.
