Igbo Shrine Figure with Vessel
Male shrine figure wearing a typical four-cornered hat with a top knob. He is depicted holding a vessel or offering of some kind. Although this would be very small for an Alusi figure, the object shows substantial oxidation and field age, suggesting that it dates prior to 1940. Export from Nigeria circa 1970; ex Sidney and Gae Berman.
